ENF’s vision is the improvement of the quality of life of the people of El Nido while at the same time preserving the area’s natural resource base. ENF recognizes that environmental issues and poverty are interrelated and that only by addressing these two issues in an integrated manner could lasting solutions be arrived at. ENF also believes that the active involvement of communities in environment related issues is crucial in sustainable resource management.
ENF is governed by an independent 15-member Board of Trustees (BOT), with members coming from both the public and private sectors. The members have varied experiences and competence in business management, fund raising, health care, agriculture, education, local governance, natural sciences, and community development. Members are elected yearly with a one-year term of office.
