Susan M. Lualhati

Mrs. Lualhati was born in Culion, Palawan on April 25, 1953. She graduated from the Palawan State University in Puerto Princesa City with a Bachelor of Arts degree. An active community leader, she was elected Barangay Captain of Barangay Maligaya in 1989. It was during her term that the first Day Care Center in EI Nido was established in Maligaya. Also during her term, the barangay council proposed the Maligaya Tree Park, which was eventually approved during the succeeding set of barangay officials.

In 1992, she was elected member of the Sangguniang Bayan of El Nido and served as such until 1998, where she represented the women's sector in municipal activities. She led in drafting the proposal for the construction of a Women's Center in town, which is now part of the municipal town center, and serves as a venue for women's livelihood projects and other activities. Also in 1992, she was elected Treasurer of the then newly-formed Cottages, Resorts and Restaurants Association ofEl Nido(CRRAEN) where she remains an officer.

Mrs. Lualhati continues to contribute to community development in El Nido, not only through CRRAEN, but also as Manager ofEl Nido Women’s Multipurpose Cooperative, and Trustee ofEl Nido Foundation. Mrs. Lualhati is a resident of Barangay Maligaya, EI Nido.
